William Monroe Middle School

William Monroe Middle School is a fully accredited middle school serving approximately 750 students in grades six through eight. We are located in Stanardsville, Va., at the foot of the Blue Ridge Mountains.

William Monroe Middle School's mission is to empower and inspire all students to apply the knowledge, skills and attitudes necessary to become creative thinkers and problem solvers, to experience individual and team success, and to become responsible, contributing members of our community.

Physical Education and Related Arts

All students have physical education every other day throughout their middle school career. Students are required to change out for PE classes. Students have opportunities to experience eight different related arts classes during grades six and seven, and then they get to choose their related arts classes for eighth grade. Sixth and seventh grade related arts classes change quarterly.  Eighth grade related arts classes are semester-long courses.
