    Mrs. Marlene Rombach

    Assistant Principal

    William Monroe Middle School

Greetings William Monroe Middle School Community!

It is with great pleasure that I begin my fourth year at William Monroe Middle School as the new assistant principal! Like you, I share your commitment to children and providing them with the best education available.

As an experienced educator, I have spent over 13 years in secondary education as a teacher of biology, ecology as well as an instructional coach. Just as important as my education career,  I am a wife and the proud parent of three children—Morgan, Maggie and Jake—and Chloe, our rescue dog.

I completed my undergraduate degree at  Virginia Commonwealth University where I studied business and science in Richmond, Virginia. After years of working as a pharmaceutical marketing manager and small business owner, I decided to pursue my dream to become an educator, which was one of the best decisions I have ever made. I worked in secondary education here in Greene County for 13 years. Then after receiving my Educational Leadership Master's Degree from James Madison University, I accepted a position as instructional coach which focused on teacher training, collaboration and innovation.

Throughout my career I have had some great opportunities and  experiences such as; presenting at national innovation education conferences; being selected for the Greene’s division strategic planning team; creating and sponsoring the Future Dragons Mentor Club; and, twice winning the Greene County Teacher of the Year Award—once for the school division and once for WMMS.

Throughout my education career, I have enjoyed many opportunities to work with students of all backgrounds by chairing several mentor programs and sponsoring the student council. I strive to be an impactful educator and effective school leader in all I do. The position of assistant principal gives me the opportunity to work collaboratively with families, students and the great staff at William Monroe Middle School. I believe students will succeed in an environment that involves a great partnership between school and home.

To our students, I am so excited to see all of you! I hope that you are looking forward to the 2021-2022 school year and that you are enjoying the remaining days of summer. I am looking forward to learning along with you so please come and say hello!
