Hello Greene County Community!
I am so excited to be in my fourth year as assistant principal! I have enjoyed my time working with all students, staff, parents, and community members. I truly enjoy the interaction with students, observing the innovative teaching and learning in our classrooms, and the parent/community support we have at our school.
Our school community provides students the opportunity to grow as learners and become respectful citizens in a safe and welcoming educational environment. Through the relationships they establish with administration, faculty, and staff, our learners can flourish throughout their formative middle school years. Our school community works together to establish lifelong learning habits that enable our students to thrive in an ever-changing, global society.
This year I obtained my doctorate in Educational Administration from Liberty University. I have 19 years of experience in education as of 2021 -2022 school year; 11 of those years were serving as a high school English teacher, department chair, literacy coordinator/remediation specialist, and instructional coach in Virginia. In my 3 years of instructional coaching, I found my heart was with middle school. I enjoy working with students and teachers at the middle school level because it requires deeper relationship building between teachers and students. Prior to my experiences in Virginia, I taught high school in Massachusetts and North Carolina. Additionally, I was an instructor at a community college in Jacksonville, NC, taught English at the Marine Corps Staff Noncommissioned Officer’s Academy, Camp Lejeune, NC. All of my experiences led me to the rewarding role of assistant principal at William Monroe Middle School!
I look forward to continuing to support our students to help them not only grow as learners, but also to ensure they have a successful and positive middle school experience. I also look forward to continuing to serve parents and the community of Greene County. Should you have any questions, concerns, or comments you would like to share, please feel free to contact me – my door is always open. Go Dragons!Dr. Karin E.
