Greene County Schools Names Ms. Jess Peregoy Director of Career and Technical Education
(Stanardsville, VA.) Greene County Schools is pleased to announce the recent appointment of Ms. Jess
Peregoy to the division’s Director of Career and Technical Education. Jess Peregoy has served the
Greene County Public School community for the past nine years as a Career and Technology educator at
both the middle and high school levels. In her time as an educator, she has been recognized for her
innovative teaching practices, inclusive culture building, and immersive use of technology in the
educational setting. She has served on multiple leadership committees and represented Greene County
Public Schools in several professional capacities throughout the commonwealth.
A native of Greene County, Peregoy graduated from William Monroe High School. She holds a bachelor’s
degree from Randolph-Macon College and worked in the broadcasting and marketing industry before
earning her teaching licensure credentials from Mary Baldwin College. She also holds a Master of
Educational Leadership with an endorsement in Administration and Supervision from James Madison

Ms. Peregoy’s dedication and passion for Career and Technical Education makes her the ideal candidate
for this role. As a CTE educator, she consistently incorporates new and creative learning experiences into
her classroom in an effort to keep her students engaged and excited to learn. She is a strong proponent
for project-based learning and assessment, activities that encourage creativity, and collaboration
opportunities for students. Her approach to teaching maximizes students’ success, particularly in CTE
program courses and career pathways. She has always possessed an innate ability to forge strong
connections with her colleagues, enabling collaboration on projects that enhance our students’ learning
experiences. Through her role on the WMMS, WMHS, and Division Lead Innovator teams, she has gone
above and beyond to help other educators in the division incorporate innovative practices into their
classrooms. She is also always among one of the most reliable instructional resources for local
professional development opportunities. Dr. Andrea Whitmarsh, Superintendent of Greene County
Schools, says, “I strongly believe Ms. Peregoy will transition wonderfully into her new role in the division.
When I think about teachers who constantly go above and beyond to incorporate innovative practices in
the classroom, Jess is among the top in our division. Her genuine care and consideration for our
students, our schools, and our community are undisputed. I cannot wait to see all the phenomenal things
she has planned for our Career and Technical Education Program. I am confident she is going to hit the
ground running and thrive in this new position.” When asked about her new role, Ms. Peregoy said, “I am
excited to get the opportunity to work with the amazing Career and Technical educators in our County.
We have an impressive group of dedicated people who want to provide our students with innovative
experiences to facilitate their education and growth. I am committed to bringing passion, positivity, and
professionalism to this position. I look forward to serving the educators and students in their endeavors,
as well as shining a light on the innovative hub that is the Greene County Career and Technical
