Greene County Schools Names Educator of the Year and Support Staff Member of the Year
Stephanie Hammer and Nicole Collier Recognized as Exceptional Educators for 2018-2019
Thanks to the generous support and contributions of Marianne Shepard – Financial Advisor with Edward Jones, the Greene County School Board is pleased to announce the 2018-2019 recipients of Educator of the Year and Support Staff Member of the Year recognitions. Each school accepted nominations from parents, community members, and staff to nominate one individual from each school. The nominees for Educator of the Year were Anne Neville Broadus (Ruckersville Elementary), Kim McInturff (Nathanael Greene Elementary and Primary), Stephanie Hammer (William Monroe Middle), and Jesse Lamm(William Monroe High School). The nominees for Support Staff Member of the Year were Cynthia Davis (Ruckersville Elementary), April Beirne (Nathanael Greene Elementary and Primary), Nicole Collier (William Monroe Middle School), and Erin Rocha (William Monroe High School).
After a careful review of each nominee’s qualifications and application, the selection committee chose to name Ms. Stephanie Hammer as the 2018-2019 Educator of the Year and Ms. Nicole Collier as the 2018-2019 Support Staff Member of the Year. Each winner received a $500 check courtesy of Marianne Shepard – Edward Jones, along with a prize patrol celebration with family, colleagues, and students. Ms. Hammer has contributed 30 years of teaching in Greene County Public Schools. Ms. Collier is an instructional assistant and has worked in Greene County Schools for three years. The Greene County School system is pleased to be represented by such dedicated educators that work tirelessly each day to ensure that students have the opportunities to succeed and achieve their dreams.
