Hello and welcome to NGES!
My name is Linda Hirw (pronounced "her" - much easier than it looks!), and I am so excited to be the new assistant principal here at NGES. I've been an educator for 22 years, most recently serving as a reading specialist for 16 years in Rockingham County. Previously, I worked as a high school English teacher in Brooklyn, N.Y., and New Kent, Va.
I am thrilled to be a dragon and honored to serve as the assistant principal. I look forward to connecting with the children, teachers, and members of the community in Greene County. I welcome the opportunity to work collaboratively with both teachers and students. I firmly believe that every child has the ability to excel and feels lucky to have the opportunity to help them learn and grow academically and socially. I am committed to always exploring new ways to meet the needs of all students and to effectively communicate with families and community members.
To our students - I can not wait to meet you all! I hope that you are getting excited about the coming school year and that you are out this summer playing and reading tons of books. I am looking forward to a wonderful year of learning together.
