• Welcome to Greene County Technical Education Center!

At the heart of the Greene County Technical Education Center (GCTEC) is the idea that every student has talents and skills that can be used to find a good paying job after high school.  Because today’s workforce is constantly changing, students need to prepare by developing transferable skills like the 5 Cs (critical thinking, creative thinking, collaboration, communication, and citizenship) while learning industry based skills.  Our Career & Technical Education (CTE) courses provide students with a real-world, problem based learning environment where students are free to explore original solutions to a variety of complex situations.

While at GCTEC, students have the opportunity to explore a number of specialized career pathways that include traditional fields such as automotive technology or nursing along with newer fields such as renewable energy or computer programming.  As students advance to more specialized training they have the opportunity to demonstrate their learning through industry recognized credential exams that show employers our students have what it takes to succeed. And by placing upper level students with local employers, our instructors provide on the job learning and sustain a critical link to our community.

Whatever your plans are for the future, CTE classes can help you get there.  Please come by for a visit and talk with us to see what CTE has to offer you!

    Sincerely,
    Dr. Michael Ormsmith
