Twin Lakes Subdivision Road Closure Notification:
    (effective 8/16/18)
GCPS Department of Transportation was notified shortly after 3:00 p.m. on Wednesday, August 15th of a road closure in Twin Lakes Subdivision due to the start of a construction project.  At this time, we have been unable to successfully reach anyone with the Homeowner's Association to confirm details regarding the length of the closure.
Unfortunately, this will impact bus commute on the Morning Glory side of the subdivision.  Alert messages were sent to families Wednesday afternoon providing details of the alternate pickup and drop off location.  If your child rides primary/elementary bus #34 or middle/high bus #30 and you did not receive an alert message, please contact the department to update your alert records.
The alternate pickup and drop off for both bus #34 and bus #30 will be the intersection of Morning Glory Road and Morning Glory Turn.  Buses will be unable to travel Morning Glory Turn, Larkspur Road, or Snapdragon Rd.
We apologize for the short notice and appreciate your patience.  The alternate location listed above will be utilized for both the morning and afternoon bus commutes until further notice.
Primary/Elementary age parents please note, student release forms received for families who live on the roads listed above will be withdrawn until the construction is complete and routes resume the normal schedule.  A parent or guardian MUST be present and clearly visible (outside of vehicles) to the bus driver prior to any student release.
Please contact Larry Morris or Alexis Davis with additional questions or concerns.
Primary / Elementary Student Release Program
Greene County Public Schools offers a Student Release Program for families who have students 5th grade and younger.  GCPS policy prohibits primary and elementary students from being released from a school bus unless a parent/guardian is present and clearly visible to the driver to meet the child.  The only exceptions to this policy are as listed as follows:
    - The student has a family member that is in 6th grade or higher that can meet or escort the student home.
    - A parent/guardian has signed and dated a request of release form that authorizes the driver to release a student without a parent/guardian present and clearly visible.
If you would like to have your student participate in the release program, please complete the document below and return to the school's main office, school bus driver or email to adavis@greenecountyschools.com
